The Paradise Jazz Festival,
from which the company derives its name, was founded in 1999
by David Locke in conjunction with Socratis, the owner of
the Paradise Place bar and restaurant near Pomos, Cyprus.
The Festival aims to bring the best of London's young jazz
musicians to Cyprus to perform in a relaxed and inspirational
location. Paradise Place itself sits at the edge of the sea
in the North West of the Island in one of Cyprus fastest developing
tourist areas. with spectacular sea views to the west.
A CD was produced from the first festival (still available)
and a CD with highlights of 2003 will be on sale at this year's
Festival. The Paradise Suite, written especially for
the 2001 festival will also be on sale. This unique work,
a jazz composer's impressions of Cyprus, was written by Simon
Whiteside, the Festival's musical director.
