RE-BIRTH OF THE COOL

Astonishingly it seems re-incarnation lives on in the world of jazz. On Saturday 22nd May 2004 in the Chelsea Arts Club London, the cool sounds of Miles Davis were heard once again.

In 1949, in the company of some jazz greats; Gerry Mulligan, Max Roach, Lee Konitz, Kai Winding et al Miles Davis produced one of the greatest jazz albums ever: "Birth of the Cool".

Simon Whiteside with his swinging eleven piece jazz ensemble, SW-IX, have captured that sound and will play live at the PARADISE JAZZ FESTIVAL TOUR 2004.
